Australian action/creature feature “Red Billabong” has officially joined forces with Pinnacle Films to distribute the film theatrically and on home release throughout Australia and New Zealand.

Pinnacle Films are distributors for previous Australian films such as “Predestination”, “Healing” and “Return to Nim’s Island”, and more recently “Dinosaur Island”, and the John Jarratt thriller “Stalkher”. Thus “Red Billabong” is a natural addition to their slate.

“Red Billabong” stars “Home & Away” heart throb DAN EWING and “Dance Academy” favourite TIM POCOCK. SOPHIE DON, JESSICA GREEN (Lightning Point), BEN CHISHOLM, JOHN REYNOLDS, EMILY JOY, JAMES STRAITON also star along with FELIX WILLIAMSON (Underbelly: Razor, The Great Gatsby) and GREGORY FRYER (The Sapphires).

“We’re thrilled to be working with the likes of Pinnacle Films, the films they have released speak for themselves. I’m very excited to have “Red Billabong” coming to Australian audiences and I hope they will get a kick out of the film. It’s action packed, funny, exciting and a story about Australian mythology they haven’t heard of before.”- Luke Sparke Writer/Director.

“In the Australian Outback, two brothers discover old secrets and family lies. As their friends start to go missing they fear they are being stalked by someone or something from their worst nightmares – But is it just – A story? A legend? A hoax? Or is it real?”

The film is also teamed up with international sales agent, Arclight Films, who is handling sales on the project. Arclight Films is one of the world’s leading international sales companies for theatrical, television and home entertainment.

The production is eyeing a mid-year release, with a broad marketing campaign to kick it off.
