Cast: Megan Hughes Danny Dobyns and Marchus Murphy
Effects By: Original Sin F/X
Synopsis:
First time director Justin Snyder attempts to do a documentary on a phenomenon known as the Black Eyed Children or Black Eyed Kids as some would call them. Wikipedia describes the children to be supposed paranormal creatures that resemble children between the ages of 6 and 16, with pale skin and black eyes, who are reportedly seen hitchhiking, panhandling, or are encountered on doorsteps of residential homes. Snyder interviews several different witnesses or experts in the paranormal to try and get a better grasp of what or who these creepy little children are.
Review:
I recently watched this ‘documentary’ film in its entirety and did not think I would be pleased with the substance of the film. Shortly after having this thought to myself, you hear a scream in the movie and the lights go out in the house where the cameraman was filming. I must admit when the lights come on again I was creeped out at what I saw.
One of the best things about this documentary has to be Dale, the cowboy hat wearing, pickup truck driving interviewee that met up with Justin to give his accounts of personal encounters with the ‘Black Eyed Childrens’ as he called them.
Overall, Snyders first attempt at the horror genre was mediocre at best, yet he still manages to hold your interest throughout the film with probing questions colorful answers and even more colorful characters.
