Women in Horror Film Fest prepares for a star studded event

Festival Directors and horror filmmakers Samantha Kolesnik and Vanessa Ionta Wright are thrilled to welcome some amazing guests, panelists and guest judges to the 2017 Women in Horror Film Festival! Guest judges and panelists Marianne Maddalena (Producer of Scream 1,2,3 & 4, The Hills Have Eyes, The Last House on the left), Heather Langenkamp & Amanda Wyss (A Nightmare on Elm Street).  A panel with Jen & Sylvia Soska (Hellevator, American Mary, Dead Hooker in a Trunk).  Appearances by Lynn Lowry (The Crazies, Shivers, Cat People) and Sonya Thompson (The Walking Dead, Zombieland).

WIHFF is proud to support and showcase female filmmakers and screenwriters from around the world.  When asked what prompted the launch of the festival, Vanessa said, “I think this is an opportunity to celebrate women in film and the integral role that we play both on and off the screen.”    Samantha added, “As a huge fan of genre films, and as someone who really enjoys working with diverse creative teams, I’m excited to launch this festival to celebrate and honor the tremendous work being produced by talented women creatives and their colleagues.”

The festival will be coming to the beautiful Crowne Plaza Hotel & Conference Center in Peachtree City, GA September 21-24, 2017.  Tickets are available at www.squareup.com/store/women-in-horror-film-fest.

WIHFF will be hosting a VIP party Thursday September 21, 2017 for all film and screenplay finalists where they can mingle and meet each other.  Press will be there to put the spotlight on the finalists and celebrity guests will be there to meet and greet the attendees.  A limited amount of exclusive passes will be sold for this event so be sure to keep an eye out and join us on the red carpet!
