So, yeah, I might be a bit of a prepper at heart, AND mix in some b-movie flare to the marketing campaign and well…they had me at “badass woman”. From the press release:

“Your phone won’t help you when aliens invade Earth, but the Spare Me 8 in 1 Rescue Tool will.

How do we know? Well, we made a short 70s-style sci-fi film about it, and it has the three B’s of every great horror film:

  • Beasts

  • Blood

  • Badass survival tool

Philadelphia production company Spirit Animal teamed up with Washington-based inventor Kevin Klier to make quite possibly the most epic crowdfunding video for his new multi-tool, the Spare Me 8 in 1. (No stranger to crowdfunding videos, Spirit Animal produced the viral Kickstarter video for the Lil’ Trucker tool back in 2014.)

The video follows Kat as she tries to make her way home on the eve of an alien apocalypse. Luckily, she’s packing a Spare Me which enables her to dig, pry, shatter, and slice her way out of seriously slimy situations. Oh yeah, she also uses it as a self-defense weapon and goes beast mode on some aliens.

The video launches on Indiegogo on Tuesday October 3, 2017 as part of a crowdfunding campaign to raise funds for manufacturing the Spare Me 8 in 1 due out in 2018. The tool will be available for as low as $20 for early buyers. During the campaign, backers will also receive a free movie poster inspired by the film.”
