For about the thousandth time on this site I want to go into yet another diatribe on the power of the short film in modern horror. When we strip away studio involvement and we see these mini passion projects come to fruition it truly is s a thing to behold. Part X-Files, part Stranger Things and part Twin Peaks, 14 minute “Techno Western” by filmmaker Jordan Downey doesn’t just beg for a feature presentation of its subject matter, it begs for an entire series. A beautiful mash-up of thriller, horror and Spielbergian themes, Downey along with DP Kevin Stewart, has created a film that truly showcases a bold new voice that we can’t wait to hear more from.
