BAKEMONO – New Practical FX Japanese Monster Movie Invades Kickstarter

BAKEMONO is a Japanese monster movie that features all practical FX and no CGI, inspired by John Carpenter’s The Thing with a tentacle transforming creature. The film is shot in Tokyo, Japan by an American director, Doug Roos (The Sky Has Fallen, Rearranged).

A gruesome creature waits for unsuspecting victims in a cheap Tokyo rental apartment.

What makes the story unique is the fact that it’s told out-of-order like Memento and Pulp Fiction. Doug Roos says, “I wanted to make something unpredictable and new that would hook audiences from the very beginning. Something extremely exciting that you can’t stop watching.”
