There’s a lot that goes into bringing Stephen King’s Carrie to life, and when you’re dealing with a story known for its blood-soaked imagery and fiery destruction, the visual effects team has its work cut out for it.

Horror-Fix correspondent Jim Chandler recently sat down with Becky Philpott, visual effects supervisor on the upcoming Carrie series, to discuss some of the challenges and creative decisions behind bringing this latest adaptation to the screen.

During the exclusive interview, Philpott discusses the production’s use of fire, the role of practical effects, and, of course, the blood. After all, it wouldn’t be Carrie without it!

The conversation offers a look at the effects work behind the production, touching on some of the elements that help bring the story’s most memorable moments to life.
