The fifth entry in the indie horror “Things” franchise has just been released – “Things 5: Strange Monsters” is now available from Sterling Entertainment, home to this franchise as well as popular indie cult franchises, “Witchcraft,” and “Camp Blood.”
“Things 5: Strange Monsters” is written and directed by Pacific Northwest filmmaker Joe Sherlock who is in his third decade of making lo-fi, independent horror flicks like “Beyond the Wall of Fear,” “Blood Creek Woodsman, “ “Drifter,” and “Bloodsucking Redneck Vampires.” Sherlock is co-producer and director of photography on “Manos Returns,” the official sequel to the Mystery Science Theater 3000 favorite “Manos The Hands of Fate.”
Sherlock describes the plot thusly: “Mysterious experiments are going on at the BioGen4 Research Labs, and now, those experiments are loose! I tried to make this just a really fun, gratuitous b-movie filled with sexy women, bizarre beasts and buckets of gore. I say it goes great with a cold glass of beer!”
The movie features Jackey Neyman Jones from Manos: The Hands of Fate and a cameo by cult favorite actor George Stover from The Alien Factor and Nightbeast. Both appeared in Sherlock’s most recent release, “Beyond the Wall of Fear.”
