If we are going to talk “outta left field” in the world of horror, this one definitely falls into that category. Out of all of the once associated creators of the franchise, Jason Goes to Hell director Adam Marcus is definitely among the most vocal. From talking about the ties to the Evil Dead franchise (see the Horror Geek Life article here) to tales of how outside creative involvement shaped the franchise, Marcus seems to truly care about the series. In fact, it seems he’s still thinking about his own installment in terms of how the Friday franchise might push forward. In a story just breaking over at comicbook.com, Marcus teases how he’s already in the development of a Jason Goes to Hell spinoff movie focusing on Jason “hunter” Creighton Duke. Now, I’m all for jumping off the beaten path AND anything that gets us closer to a canon Friday film is a good thing BUT…with all the legal troubles surrounding any property even remotely associated with that hockey mask…can this be a real thing?
