‘Into the Mud’ is the first short film in the career of María Forqué, daughter of spanish actress Veronica Forqué and director Manuel Iborra, as well as her first foray into the world of terror, demonstrating that spanish scream queens have nothing to envy internationals one.
Directed by Pablo S. Pastor, its plot is as follows: “A wounded girl wake up naked in the woods. Dazed and in pain, her only companion is a hunter with not very good intentions. Since then, survive will become her top priority.”
With a team in which highlights the collaboration of Colin Arthur, known for his work in films like ‘The Neverending Story’ or ‘Open your eyes’, ‘Into the Mud’ began its journey by Spanish festivals in the last edition of Nocturna, International Fantastic Film Festival of Madrid, having already been selected to compete in other festivals around Europe like International Film Festival of Transylvania or the 2016 edition of Sitges Film Festival. It has already won at Stock Shock Festival in Canada, where it’ve been selected as the Best Short Film, and Best Make up at Cinefantasy in Brasil.
With clear influences of titles such as “The Texas Chainsaw Massacre ‘,’ Evil Dead ‘or’ I spit on your grave ‘, this short film aims to provide a new vision of survival horror.
