SdmrBuhwQI’d never heard of 2015’s The Slashening directed by an Upright Citizens Brigade alum Brandon Bassham. Shot for a paltry $6000 (and at times that showed), it has all the things a slasher satire should have including:

  • actors 10years too old for their parts (hilariously evident and featuring scenes absolutely stolen by Dana Clinkman who plays a character fresh out of rehab making up for lost time).
  • The friend zoned and uncircumcised Pat, played by Patrick Foy was also a nice sendup of the cliche slasher formula and funny as hell as well.
  • This flick has more than one spot that will make you laugh out loud and although It was remarkably light on blood, when there was blood there was good amounts – a genital mutilation, a disembowelment, and a garden of dead pizza guys.

The film itself plays like a modern satire of Slumber Party Massacre and I mean that as a huge compliment. If you like spoofs and satire like i do then this one is a must see.
