Luis Ferrer’s Psychological Thriller MIA Set for July 8, 2025 Release

A haunting maze of doubt and suspense, where no one can be trusted.
The countdown is on. With just one week to go, director Luis “Lou” Ferrer—whose past work has caught the attention of both Netflix and Spike Lee—returns with MIA, a gripping psychological thriller arriving July 8, 2025. Starring Shah Motia (The Outside Man) and rising talent Emiliana Jasper (Reckoning), MIA is a taut, mind-bending mystery that challenges perceptions and keeps viewers guessing until the very end.

In MIA, Aaron (Motia) is a man consumed by the belief that a young woman named Emma (Jasper) is his missing daughter, Mia. But Emma insists they’ve never met. As Aaron’s obsession deepens, reality fractures and a disturbing question takes hold: is Aaron delusional, or is there something Emma isn’t telling us?

Drawing comparisons to Prisoners and Gone Girl, Ferrer delivers a chilling, slow-burn thriller steeped in paranoia and psychological tension. The film unravels like a twisted puzzle—layer by layer—forcing audiences to constantly reassess what they think they know.

“From the start, MIA was designed to provoke unease,” says Ferrer. “It’s about how terrifying it can be when truth becomes uncertain—when trust erodes, and the mind becomes its own trap.”

Breaking Glass Pictures will release MIA across digital and home entertainment platforms. CEO Rich Wolff shared his enthusiasm:
MIA is unforgettable—intense, intelligent, and unsettling in the best way. Luis Ferrer has crafted a standout psychological thriller that lingers long after the credits roll. We’re proud to share it with audiences who crave layered, thought-provoking cinema.”
