KEW Media Group announced today that it has acquired worldwide sales rights to PERFECT SKIN, the controversial and beautiful dark thriller feature directed by Kevin Chicken and starring Richard Brake (GAME OF THRONES, OUTPOST, DEATH OF STALIN), Natalia Kostrzewa (THE CURED), and Jo Woodcock (DORIAN GREY).
Combining the style of CELL with the sizzling tension and startling turns of THE SKIN I LIVE IN, and featuring music from Liam Howlett of The Prodigy, PERFECT SKIN is a bold, confrontational, beautiful, and ultimately empowering film that dives deep into the culture of tattooing and body modification – a complex section of society that is growing and evolving as we speak.
In the film, Katia (Kostrzewa), a young Polish woman adrift in London, meets Bob (Brake), an American tattoo artist who has a reverence for his craft. Katia is drawn to his mysterious aura and the taboo culture of body modification, but Bob has a dark, secret desire to leave his mark on the world and little does Katia know that her fascination with him will put her life in danger. We’re all born a blank Canvas.
PERFECT SKIN was produced by Fiona Campbell and Cordelia Plunket. Kew Media’s EVP of Sales, Jonathan Ford, will introduce the film to buyers and show first time promo footage at the upcoming European Film Market (EFM) in Berlin.
Ford said: “The look, the sound, the premise and the world this story takes us in will both fascinate and stir audiences equally. We’re really excited to be working with Kevin, Fiona, Cordelia and the team on such a bold and original film.”
Currently in post-production, PERFECT SKIN features involvement from an array of the most recognized artists in the body modification community such as the world-renowned tattoo artist Mo Coppoletta from The Family Business, well-known artist and model Grace Neutral from Viceland’s ‘PINS AND NEEDLES’, and model and tattoo artist Courtney Lloyd who appears in the film. The Prodigy, known as ‘The Godfathers of Rave,’ are one of the most successful electronic acts of all time and have sold over 30 million records worldwide, and have won two Brit awards, eight MTV awards, and two Grammy nominations. Their song, ‘Invisible Sun’ from their last studio album, ‘The Day is my Enemy’ is included in the films soundtrack and score, the first time that they have allowed their material to be used in this way.
In addition to PERFECT SKIN, KEW Media Group’s impressive international slate includes the flamboyant murder mystery comedy BEES MAKE HONEY starring Alice Eve; the comedy AN ACTOR PREPARES starring Jeremy Irons and Jack Huston; the Lorenzo di Bonaventura produced Sci-Fi epic feature HIGHER POWER; the sci-fi mystery ORIGIN UNKNOWN starring Katee Sackhoff; the elevated sci-fi film ‘2067’ from Seth Larney and the Maria Callas biopic CALLAS & ONASSIS, starring Noomi Rapace with Niki Caro directing.
