On Saturday November 3rd, Cafe 13 and The Gold Rush Pawnbrokers present two Halloween screenings of the locally produced independent feature film, The Stripper Ripper. The screenings will take place downtown Danville, Illinois at Vintage Villains (126 N Vermilion Street) with a matinee at 4pm and evening screening at 8pm.  This is a free show, and if they wish, patrons can make donations to help cover costs of the event. DVDs of the film will also be available for purchase.

Based on the Ripper the Clown character created in the award winning comedy novels by Jake Aurelian,The Stripper Ripper is an all-ages slapstick comedy movie for the whole family. Filmed at over 20 locations throughout Vermilion County, The Stripper Ripper has an all-star cast of over 40 players featuring an eclectic mix of entertainers, comedians, actors and child performers. The Stripper Ripper also features special appearances by former Disney animator and voice over actor Philo Barnhart (The Little Mermaid, Beauty & The Beast), filmmaker, author and historian, John Borowski (American Ripper) and actor and model, Richie Berner (Chicago Fire, Jackson’s Run).

The Stripper Ripper parodies horror and pop culture classics such as Kolchak: The Night Stalker (1972-75), Halloween (1978), The Town That Dreaded Sundown (1977), Killer Klowns from Outer Space, Run, Lola, Run, Batman (1989), The Blues Brothers, Fear & Loathing in Las Vegas, Ghostbusters (1984), Pee-Wee’s Big Adventure, Bozo on WGN and The Three Stooges–and of course, the contemporaneous creepy clown sighting craze. The film also includes numerous references and homages to Danville native Dick Van Dyke.
