My love for 2017’s IT is no secret. Despite my initial misgivings the Andy Muschietti adaptation delivered on almost every level. Now, two years later, we are quickly approaching the release of the second half.
Today, that seems every closer as the first official FULL trailer dropped for the film. For those wondering just how different the two films in their entirety will be from the tv miniseries, I think we can safely say “VERY”. This second trailer hints at such a larger focus on the adult version of The Loser’s Club that we can definitely assume that this second chapter will be a much more fleshed out depiction of the group’s reunion. We see an expanded relationship of Bill and Beverly, a greater emphasis on Derry’s sinister mind control and a larger focus on Mike’s commitment to keeping their promise alive. All great things that sometimes felt a little rushed in the tv adaptation.
For those purists this might be bittersweet, as many scenes were unrecognizable from King’s epic tome, but I guess only time will tell. IT: Chapter 2 makes us all float September 6th in theaters everywhere!
