Ebenezer Scrooge: A Christmas Carol Horror Brings a Terrifying Twist to Dickens’ Classic This Halloween
Christmas is coming early this year, and apparently, it’s bringing a few nightmares along with it.
Director Marcel Walz is putting a horror spin on Charles Dickens’ timeless holiday tale with Ebenezer Scrooge: A Christmas Carol Horror, arriving on digital platforms October 30, 2026, just in time for Halloween.
The film stars Dominic Keating, Bryan Barron, and Matthew Gademske, with a screenplay by Joshua Pruett.
The story follows the notoriously cruel businessman Ebenezer Scrooge, whose Christmas Eve takes a supernatural turn when he’s visited by ghosts determined to show him the error of his ways. Faced with terrifying warnings, Scrooge must decide whether to embrace redemption or remain the cold-hearted, merciless man he’s always been.
Of course, anyone familiar with Dickens’ original story knows that A Christmas Carol has always contained some genuinely unsettling imagery. Ghostly apparitions, visions of death, and a terrifying glimpse into a possible future practically make the story a horror film waiting to happen.
Now, Walz is bringing those darker elements to the forefront.
