London (U.K.) based filmmaker Sarah Appleton has released the trailer for her first self produced and directed narrative short film – END USER, a tech horror with a comedy edge. Professional videographer, documentary filmmaker and writer Sarah has previously worked with the likes of the British Film Institute (BFI), Arrow Video, Severin Films, Studio Canal, 101-Films and more under her video production company banner Caprisar Productions.
Ms Appleton has this to say about the film: “End User was inspired by a friend who predicted her own engagement after seeing an advert online. The film is poking fun at programmatic advertising and hopefully it will be enjoyable for comedy-horror fans!”
Phones don’t kill people people do! As technology becomes more and more a part of day-to-day life, a mother and daughter learn a hard lesson about what happens when they allow their phones to track their whereabouts, as well as the sinister nature of tailored adverts.
- Bond and Hammer icon Caroline Munro plays a barmaid in END USER; interestingly she had never stepped foot behind a bar before and therefore had no prior experience in the role. Luckily she didn’t need to actually pour a pint!
- The pub featured in the short is the Two Doves in Bromley.
