Tiiiiiin Roof… Bloody! Rebecca Rinehart and Rob Mello give us slasher shelter with ‘Tin Roof’

There’s truth behind every legend…

Actor/writer Rob Mello (Happy Death Day) has teamed with producer/director/actor Rebecca Rinehart (CarousHELL the 2nd) on a brand new slasher film that takes fear back to the woods. Tin Roof is Rinehart’s second directorial effort, while it is Mello’s first feature-length screenplay. The two previously collaborated on The Embalmers, which is currently in post-production.

Synopsis: Five adults attempt to save their beloved summer camp after it is threatened with permanent closure after a series of unfortunate events.

The film will feature genre icon Helene Udy (My Bloody Valentine) along with Rae Hunt (Curse of the Nun), Kevin Roach (The Bad Man), Jimmy Dempster (King’s Gambit), Mike R. Tinker (The Lost Footage), Amanda Winston (Evil Lurks), Leanne Johnson (Idle Girl), and A.J. Laird (Pizzodyssey).

“I’m so excited to work not just with this extremely talented cast, but the crew we’re assembling is top notch!” says Mello.

In addition to the cast, Tin Roof is also excited to announce that Special FX Master Joe Castro (Terror Toons, Exorcism at 60,000 Feet) will bring his skills to the project designing some of the most brutal kill-scenes ever seen on film.

Joining the team as the Director of Photography is Laura Duval Romaguera (The Marked). Laura received an MBA in Film Production from the University of New Orleans and is now a producer/director at Tiny Pup Productions.

Of the project, Rinehart says: “After directing The Embalmers, I wanted to make a film in the subgenre that is my true passion: camp slashers. Rob was eager to write the screenplay, incorporating aspects of the movies I love such as Friday the 13th and Sleepaway Camp. However, our protagonists are complex, relatable middle-aged people as opposed to one-dimensional teen caricatures that are seen in so many modern slashers.”

Tin Roof is scheduled to begin filming in Indiana in the Fall of 2021 with the intent of a Spring 2022 release.
