Director’s Statement
Due to my Father, I grew up with a love for horror. He used to take me to Hollywood Video every Friday as a child. Watching each movie sparked something in my young mind to want to make movies myself. As a kid, I made little films on our family video recorder. Surprisingly, I still have my first “movie” I taped. If I spoke to my younger self, I would have never thought I would be where I am today. My directorial debut and first film picked up for worldwide distribution! I’m truly lucky and humbled to have accomplished this. I cannot wait for everyone to see THE WENDIGO. The legends of the Wendigo has always been my favorite cryptid and found footage is my favorite genre. Therefore, it made perfect sense for me to combine this legend and shoot it in my preferred style. I’ve never seen a found footage Wendigo film, and I’m happy to be the first to do it. This film is based on a real life experience of mine when I was a kid playing in the woods. I remember hearing my own voice call out to me in the woods. ‘Till this day I never knew what it was until I was older and discovered the Wendigo legend. My intention for my film is for the audience to experience the unknown of what’s calling to them in the darkness. To feel the hairs lift on your arm as the uncertainty approaches.
Hope you enjoy the film.
