
The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power Announces Two New Cast Members
for Season ThreeJamie Campbell Bower and Eddie Marsan join the cast of the hit fantasy series,
which is currently in pre-production on its third season

Today, Prime Video confirmed that Jamie Campbell Bower and Eddie Marsan have joined the cast of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power for the series’ upcoming third season, which is currently in pre-production and will begin filming this spring at the series’ new production home at Shepperton Studios in the UK. Bower will be a series regular, while Marsan will appear in a recurring role. The globally successful series, which has attracted over 170 million viewers worldwide, continues to be one of Amazon’s strongest drivers for new Prime membership sign-ups.
JAMIE CAMPBELL BOWER
Widely considered one of Britain’s brightest stars, with a career spanning theatre, TV and film, Jamie Campbell Bower is also an accomplished musician who has toured Europe and America. He is widely known for his incredible performance as Henry Creel/Vecna in Stranger Things. Other TV appearances include playing Mick Jagger in Urban Myths: Mick & Margaret, Christopher Marlow in Will, King Arthur in Camelot, the voice of Skiff in the wonderful Thomas & Friends, and 11-12 in the remake of The Prisoner alongside Sir Ian McKellen.Bower made his film debut in Tim Burton’s gothic musical Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street in a leading role opposite Johnny Depp, Alan Rickman and Helena Bonham Carter. He played the role of Gellert Grindelwald in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part I and reprised that role in Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald. He also appeared in London Boulevard, Guy Richie’s RocknRolla, Martin Koolhoven’s Winter in Wartime, Anonymousdirected by Roland Emmerich, The Twilight Saga: New Moon, The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1 & 2, The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones, and most recently in Kevin Costner’s Horizon: An American Saga – Chapter 1.
EDDIE MARSAN
The recipient of two BIFA Awards for his role in Mike Leigh’s features Vera Drake and Happy Go Lucky, as well several international critics and festival awards, Eddie Marsan’s extensive body of work spans over 20 years. Eddie has been a fierce champion of underprivileged and diverse representation in the film industry and was recently awarded an OBE. He has several films and TV projects coming out over the next year. He recently starred in the Amy Winehouse biopic Back to Black, the Apple TV+ series Franklin opposite Michael Douglas, Netflix’s Supacell, the feature Firebrand alongside Jude Law and Alicia Vikander, the Brian Epstein biopic Midas Man, The Winter King with Toni Collette and Guy Ritchie’s Operation Fortune: Ruse de Geurre. He also starred in the Netflix thriller Choose or Die and the dystopian sci-fi drama Vesper.In 2013 Marsan began his iconic role as Terry Donovan in Ray Donovan, which ran for seven seasons on Showtime, and which he reprised for the 2022 feature film. A role in Deadpool 2 brought Marsan into the DC Universe, and his role in the pulp thriller Atomic Blonde marked the beginning of his multiple collaborations with director David Leitch. Other notable roles include Guy Ritchie’s Wrath of Man for Prime Video, the four-part Channel 4 drama Deceit, the TV adaptation of the novel Ridley Road, the crime thriller White Boy Rick, Adam McKay’s political comedy Vice. His expansive career includes acclaimed independent projects such as Tyrannosaur alongside Olivia Coleman and Edgar Wright’s franchise The World’s End, alongside Nick Frost and Simon Pegg. He has also appeared in blockbuster features such asGangs of New York, War Horse, V for Vendetta, Mission Impossible 3, Hancock, Snow White and the Huntsman, Hobbs and Shaw, and Guy Ritchie’s Sherlock Holmes.
