SHEL’s ‘Enter Sandman’ paints a dark, eerie, cinematic landscape

sandmanIt’s not often that we report on music here, as there are plenty of sites that are dedicated to just that, BUT when we caught wind of SHEL’s cover of Metallica’s Enter Sandman we just couldn’t help ourselves. I have long been VERY vocal about modern horror lacking “atmosphere”. Often we trade spectacle for ambiance and in the case of horror, we do it wrongfully without any artistic conscience. Maybe its time for our horror directors to close their eyes and find inspiration exactly where it can currently be found. We think Colorado-born folk band SHEL’s cover is a good start.
