Review – My First Time (Short – 2019)

In the dating world there are typically two kinds of crazy: the kind you know and the kind you don’t. Asaf Livni’s “My First Time” is a fantastic, frenetic little horror short that explores the possibility of when the crazy, in all its different forms and incarnations lands in your apartment, at the same time.

Maggie and Kubo, having just met make their way to Kubo’s apartment where Maggie, unbeknownst to her suitor, is celebrating a momentous occasion: her first time. Of course, what the first is is soon turned upside down with duct tape, a syringe and some tough choices over which color of knife to use.

Some VERY solid pacing, good casting and beautiful cinematography make “My First Time” easy to watch and easier still to like. Culminating in a tight little crescendo expertly timed, this is one to watch out for. “My First Time” premieres April 29th on Vimeo and selected channels online. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
