Escape rooms have always had this dark allure for me. One the one side of the sword they are a novelty, a parlor trick and a helluva lotta of fun. On the other side there is always the possibility that some insidious force is at work, waiting for hapless participants to sign their lives away to a grueling and horrible exercise in fear that ultimately leads to their demise.
This fear has never been more present than in in the films of director Will Wernick. Director of the recently released No Escape (2020) and its predecessor Escape Room (2017), Will took time from his busy schedule to share his inspiration behind his latest thriller.
