Consciousness is Kelly Padrick’s 9th video collaboration with award-winning Canadian director Patricia Chica (Rockabilly 514Ceramic Tango, and Serpent’s Lullaby) and was shot in the beautiful Old Montreal in Quebec, Canada.

“Consciousness just came to me one day. It’s a song about an unhealthy relationship and I’m feeling trapped by not being able to emotionally leave. Also filming in Old Montreal as always is fun, relaxing and effortless – a lot of freedom to capture the theme of our story,” says Kelly Padrick.

“For this video, I wanted to utilize various in-camera visual techniques (reflections through broken mirrors, candle lighting, and shallow depth of field) in order to create texture and meaning that illustrates the isolation, loneliness and separation felt by the couple in the story,” says the director Patricia Chica.

Consciousness is directed, produced, and edited by Patricia Chica, starring Kelly Padrick and Christian Cardinal. Assistant-Director: Hila Jauré. Cinematography: Patricia Chica. Second Camera: Géovanny Solis. Grip & Electric: Alexandre Schippers. Art Direction: Patricia Chica. Hair & Makeup: Steph Miramontes.

Additionally, the sultry New York singer-songwriter has released an exclusive Making-Of featurette that can be found on YouTube and Vimeo.
