The First Ever Live-Action Feature Film Shot Entirely on a Extended Reality Stage
White Lotus Productions announced today that their horror film 9 Windows is available to the North American public just in time for Halloween. The film features Diana Garle, Christopher Millan and Jason Hignite and movie icons, William Forsythe (Raising Arizona) and Michael Paré (“Streets of Fire”).
The film is a modern re-telling of Alfred Hitchcock’s Rear Window. Writer-director, Lou Simón, shared the news of its much anticipated release. ““Technology has changed everything. We no longer have to look through our neighbors’ windows, because people are willing to share intimate details of their lives on the internet. Therein lies the true horror.”
The film was shot entirely on an extended reality stage using the Epic Unreal Engine. It is the first live-action feature to use the technology to that extent. “The use of virtual reality for an entire film is unheard of before this,” added the film producer, Bryce DiCristofalo. “This film may revolutionize how movies are made.”
The film tells the story of a young woman, Liza, who loses her parents in a tragic car accident. Eighteen months later, Liza is unable to walk and lives alone. Feeling responsible and depressed, Liza spends her days trolling vloggers on a local website. Late one night, a new video is uploaded in which a man sets fire to a dog. She reports it to the police, but the police detective, Boyle, cannot be bothered with a misdemeanor. However, when videos start popping up showing the gruesome murders of humans, Boyle finally agrees to consult a retired FBI agent to help them track down the killer. As the murders continue, Liza figures out that the killer is copying the most gruesome serial killers of all time. She finds the killer’s reflection on a knife he used and finds out the identity of the murderer. But now that she helped the police identify him, has she inadvertently become his next target?
Diana Garle plays the role of Liza, William Forsythe plays the Detective, Boyle, and Michael Paré plays the retired FBI agent, Thurgood.
The film is available to rent and purchase on Prime Video, Fandango at Home, Google Play, iTunes, AppleTV, YouTube, Microsoft Store, Vimeo on Demand, Xfinity, Altice, Cox Cable, Dish, Fios, Frontier, SuddenLink, Mediacom, Armstrong, Telus, Bell, AT&T, DirectTV |
