Ghost Bride (2013)

ghost-bride_midnight-releasing-353x500A supernatural thriller about a Chinese immigrant with a New Zealand accent being forced into an arranged spiritual marriage. Still interested? Hold on it gets worse.

The main character, Jason comes from a very traditional family. His ailing mother guilt trips him into going with her to see a specialist in the ancient practice of spiritual marriages. However,Jason is far from lonely, he has a girlfriend, a lovely kiwi girl named Skye. They’ve been together for a year but he has yet to tell his mother about Skye. Jason goes along with the processes of a spiritual marriage to not upset his mother. His “ghost bride” creepily pops up everywhere, as Asian ghosts are known to do.

There’s death, a surprise surgery, a wedding ! and more death. If you’re a Chinese man who fears an arranged marriage, this might appeal to you, but if you’re not, don’t lose any sleep passing up this movie.
