This collection is a ‘combo’ of different terrors you can enjoy: psychopaths, apocalypse, gore and paranormal. It makes me think of the tales you hear when you\’re a little kid, which terrify your nights and steal your sleep. Four stories completely different, all of them disturbing in their own way.
I never spoil a book, but I can say this. The first one is shuddering, you get to hyperventilate when you\’re following the horror those witnesses expose. The second one, ah, love, how deep and insane. You really shouldn\’t betray the wrong one… The third story draws an apocalyptic scenario, but not the regular one. You\’ll find yourself lost in… Hell itself?
That said, Clark closes the collection with a very beautiful, sharp one. \”The Eternal Journey\” has been, perhaps because I\’m a nostalgic, my favourite one.
The author shows the proper skills to jump from one subgenre to another since he\’s now demolishing, loving afterwards, gore at the end. Always with winks and little smirks for the reader. I would say, a perfect little read for a horror aficionado.
