Monster Magnet’s “The Duke” May be one of the best short films you’ve never seen!

I am an enormous fan of stoner rock. Not a self-styled “stoner” but yet I love the sounds of Monster Magnet, Clutch and others. Like most people in this age of streaming music, I’ll pop up spotify, youtube, etc and let the songs stream, rarely even lookign at the same window they are playing from…until today.

Monster Magnet released a video (yeah, remember those) for their 2014 reimagining of the song “The Duke” and it is truly a genre fan’s wet dream. Combining Monster Magnet’s themes of sex, psychadelics and the apocalypse I could see this making a fantastic full-length feature. Directed by “The Listening Dead”‘s Phil Mucci, The Duke is 6:57 of audio/video bliss. Enjoy!
