Insidious and Get Out’s Blumhouse set to bring their brand of horror to television?

Blumhouse personally has been hit and miss with me. I understand what they are doing, and don’t get me wrong, I understand the industry is all about being advantageous, I just see the waters getting muddied again with watered down franchises milking audiences for yet another jump scare when they now have the power to truly do some unique things. Well, despite my opinions on the matter, it looks as though horror powerhouse Blumhouse Productions is bringing their particular horror stylings to the small screen. That news of course being Blumhouse’s p[artnership with NBC to bring their new horror drama “Cul-de-sac” to the netowrk. Although no information has been released on the plot as of yet, the title alone hints at a suburban terror, a subject which always works to exploit the “evil never skips a nice neighborhood” angle.

Blumhouse has been busy in the tv market as of late aside from Cul-de-Sac, including a new Hulu series, properties for Netflix AND last, but not least, a tv series based off their popular Purge franchise. Needless to say, the production company has been more than a little busy. Release dates are projected throughout 2019 and beyond.
