TROPICAL PARASITE: New Mermaid Horror Film from Jared Masters Now Streaming and Available on DVD
Tropical horror, cursed treasure and deadly mermaid mythology collide in the latest feature from the filmmaker behind Slink.
Independent filmmaker Jared Masters (Slink) invites audiences into a sun-soaked nightmare with Tropical Parasite (2026), a supernatural horror adventure now streaming on Plex and Fawesome and available on DVD through Amazon.
Set against the mysterious waters of the Andaman Sea, Tropical Parasite follows a daring treasure hunter whose pursuit of riches leads him into the grip of an evil sea gypsy’s curse and the hypnotic love spell of a haunting water nymph. As the line between desire and danger dissolves, paradise becomes a surreal battleground of obsession, supernatural terror and deadly secrets.
Blending horror, science fiction and dark fantasy, Tropical Parasite draws on mermaid mythology, cursed treasure legends and psychedelic island imagery to deliver a strange voyage into forbidden desire and the dangers lurking beneath the surface. The film embraces the spirit of tropical horror and exploitation cinema, offering a distinctive combination of island adventure, seductive supernatural menace and cult movie madness.
